We’ve serviced and maintained our San Diego motorcycle rental fleet in-house for the last four years... Oil & filter changes, brakes, scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, tires, mounting & balancing... As our fleet grew, so did our shop and the professional tools and equipment we added to keep our rental motorcycles safe, reliable and ready to ride. Now we're offering that same level of service to San Diego riders.

Rentals start at $205 same day (8am–6pm) or $215 daily, and rates tier down the longer you book. Gear for you and your passenger is always free. $500 refundable deposit. No hidden fees.

We have nothing but respect for EagleRider and Riders Share, and we often work together! But big rental chains often advertise low rates, then add fees, $2,000+ deposits and pricey add-ons. Peer-to-peer rentals are great, but the bikes are only as reliable as their owners keep them. Route 101 is one shop with clear pricing, a flat $500 deposit, $19/day max-coverage insurance, free gear and a fleet we maintain in-house.

Yes. You need a valid motorcycle license: a California M1 endorsement or the equivalent from another U.S. state or country.

Yes. RiderSHIELD™ is required on every rental and adds just $19/day to your booking: $1M combined liability plus comprehensive, collision and theft. (Auto policies and credit cards specifically exclude motorcycle rentals.)

All renters must be at least 21 to rent a motorcycle from Route 101.

Yes. We provide a DOT helmet, gloves, and a leather or waterproof textile jacket and pants for you and your passenger, free. Long pants (jeans or heavier) are required, and over-the-ankle boots are recommended. Your own gear is always welcome.

Yes. A flat $500 refundable deposit, in cash or as a temporary card hold. It’s refunded in full when the bike comes back on time and in the same condition.

Yes. Before you ride, we walk you through the bike, note any existing damage together and give a quick safety orientation, so you leave confident.
